PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand is an abrasive materials prepared by selective screening of natural volcanic sand to give series of clean, sharp abrasives meeting the need of the abrasive blast cleaning industry.
The high degree of cleanliness, angular sharp of individual particles, hardness make this product ideal for the efficient removal of mill scale, rust or existing coating from steel and other materials in preparation for painting.
A very low heavy metal and free silica content make this product meet the environment regulation.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS
- ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand is inert, non toxic mineral, containing less than 0.1% free silica, ECOFRIENDLY is an environmentally safe, alternative user friendly, to silica and other expendable abrasive
- ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand is processed under stringent quality control regulation to ensure the size and distribution of particles in the abrasive mix is maintained at the correct proportion. These ensure an accurate, consistent surface profile is maintained.
- ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand particles are sub-angular in shape resulting in extremely fast cutting rates and low abrasives consumption
- ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand grains clean deep into cavities and pitted areas down to bare metal, thoroughly removing all rust, soluble salts and other contaminants. It is an ideal abrasive material for use on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other substrate and provide a surface that virtually free embedment and rough peaks and troughs. It improve coating adhesion and coating life by producing a clean substrate with uniform surface profile.
- The low dust levels; blast cleaning with ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand produces significantly lower dust emission because of its inherent toughness and rapid settling due to high specific gravity. Lower dust levels lead to minimum disruption and danger to adjoining operations, improved operator visibility and reduced clean up cost

USAGE GUIDELINE
· Recommended for use only in compressed air blasting equipment
· Ensure suitable operator safety equipment and breathing apparatus is used when using ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand
· Ensure abrasive metering valve is correctly set for optimum performance
· ECOFRIENDLY Volcanic Sand requires a lower abrasive flow rate than most expendable abrasives
